The mega-hit movie is expected to hit 10 million viewers this weekend. The movie is about to become the 28th film to surpass 10 million ticket sales since Frozen II Sing-Along achieved the mark in December of 2019. The Roundup has recorded a cumulative audience of 9,686,702 viewers as of June 9th, after its release on May 18th. The film has so far grossed 100 billion won ($78.8 million). ĀThe Āsecond installment had a 13 billion won ($10.2 million) budget, which is twice as much as what was spent on the first installment. The sequel brought in more than seven times its initial investment. Production companies and investment distributors will earn half the total revenue of the film, which is 43.5 billion won ($34.2 million), after deducting 3 percent ($2.4 million) for the film development fund and 10 percent ($7.9 million) for value-added tax from sales. They split profits 4-6 after deducting 7 percent of the filmŌĆÖs distribution fee and the total production cost. Therefore, the total net profit for the production company will be around 11 billion won ($8.7 million) as they will be bagging 40 percent of the filmŌĆÖs total revenue. The profits are projected to increase further as the flick continues to show a strong performance in its fourth week.
