Many Internet users sometimes wonder why they are seeing ads of the same company or same type of products on all the different websites they go to. Not only on different websites, but you may come across same or similar ads over several days! The answer to this mystery is hidden in a feature of Google AdSense which allows websites owners to show “interest based” ads to their visitors. A significant chunk of website owners seem to be using this feature because it is believed to be more successful in getting clicks from visitors. Well, Google tracks what you search for and which websites you visit when it shows you the results of your search. It apparently can also somehow track which items you add to shopping carts on online shopping websites. Based on this data, Google shows you ads that, it believes, might be of more interest to you. For example, if you recently have visited an online store selling lingerie through Google search, it may show you ads related to lingerie for next few days. Google puts it like this: There is no need to feel worried about this trend of similar ads. It will go away in a few days if you do not browse through or purchase from an online store. A friend of mine asked me this question of why he sees the same ads on all the websites –so, I thought there might be other people who are wondering the same. Hence this little piece. Enjoy Internet! I hope this was useful for you. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions on this topic. I will be happy to try and help you. Thank you for using TechWelkin. Comment * Name * Email * Website
